Relay batton passVersion 4 Approaches Milestone and Prepares for Field Trials (February 26, 2010) - The development of humaneering technology is approaching an important milestone as Version 4 (aka V4, the Professional release, or Base Tech) nears completion of its Stage Two development.

Version 4 is significant for several reasons. It will become the Professional release (to instruct future humaneering professionals) and will be taught at the Institute Graduate School beginning 2013. In addition, V4 will serve as the base technology for the additionally refined special applications, including Version 5 (the Management release), scheduled for 2016, and Version 6 (the Public release) and Version 7 (the Scholar release), both scheduled for 2020.

This might be a good time to remember that the development of humaneering technology is a widely shared effort, and the significant progress being made would not have been possible without the supporting work of hundreds of scholars and professionals from the human science and practice disciplines, field trial host-company executives and operations managers, and other volunteers and contributors. When completed, humaneering promises to be a remarkable achievement, and the many people who played a role in its development can take the credit. And like engineering technology, humaneering will belong to no one so that it is equally available to everyone.

Of course, there is much more work ahead, and the Institute is continually seeking people who recognize the potential for humaneering and the difference it will make, and would like to get involved. Anyone interested should contact the Institute and tell us how you would like to get involved.
